Travel further into the Weminuche Wilderness area on our half
day rides. Please bring your camera, cause all of our rides include scenery you will want to take home with you. We provide small saddle bags for your munchies, drinks, and cameras.
Our rides depart from Elk Point Stables at the cool summer elevation of 7,700 ft.
These rides depart every day of the a week, starting at 9:00 am with the last ride departing at 4:00 pm. These rides are just perfect for the cowboy or cowgirl who doesn’t get in the saddle back home too often. You and your gentle steed will enjoy the custom ride.
This ride takes you little further away from the homestead. Leaves at 8:00 am, and takes you into the Weminuche Wilderness. Pack your own lunch or we will for you (at a small extra charge). Call ahead to plan this
trip off the beaten path.
Great for the little ones! This ride departs at 8:00 am and includes a hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, pancakes coffee, hot chocolate and orange juice. Start your day astride a gentle mountain horse followed by a breakfast cooked over a open fire and
served in a peaceful setting in the tall pines. And yes, you can see the lake too!
**Our Most Requested Special
An authentic cowboy dinner with all the fixins.
Everyone enjoys this one!! So make sure to bring your appetite. We leave Elk Point Stables at 4:00 pm and ride into the tall pines and along the lake area. This two hour ride is spectacular and is followed by a steak dinner including a 12 oz. rib eye, or new york cut (depends on your cowboy cook) cooked over a open fire, baked potato, cowboy beans, homebaked bread, dessert and lemonade. Special price and hamburger for children under 11. If you don’t want to stay in that saddle for two hours, special arrangements can be made to join in on the dinner fixins only.
Imagine you and your friends or family saddling up in the morning for a ride into the wilderness. We arrive at our Willow Park camp right on the Los Pinos river for a one, two three or four night stay. Explore the mountains like few people have. Wake in the morning to a great breakfast, have a shore lunch of fresh caught trout, dinner could be a fresh cut ribeye right off the aspen fire grill. This camp is three to four hours in on horseback and a great adventure!
